Alex Rodriguez and Marc Lore increase Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx stakes
Marc Lore and Alex Rodriguez have exercised their option to buy a second 20 per cent stake of the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Minnesota Timberwolves and the Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) Minnesota Lynx, according to The Athletic.
Fox Sports secures cricket rights in blockbuster $1.5b agreement
Fox Sports will remain the home of Australian cricket through to 2031, with Cricket Australia and the Foxtel Group entering a historic new agreement. All home Tests, one-day internationals, T20Is, Big Bash League and Women’s Big Bash League matches, match shown live and ad-break free on Fox Cricket, through Foxtel and Kayo Sports, for another eight years!
Web3 sports tech startup launches with $1.2m investment
Tech entrepreneur, investor, and chair of Fishburners Clive Mayhew has invested $1.2 million to launch Play Today, the web3 golf company, to enable the ~70 million golf players globally to score, experience, and connect online through their favourite game.
Sports startup Spolto raises $700k USD in pre-seed funding
Spolto, a sports-tech start-up, has announced a $700,000 (₹5.5 Cr) pre-seed funding round led by a Swedish angel investor group. Spolto’s technology would be used to democratize and bridge gaps in the Indian sports ecosystem.
PTO adds Divergent and Warner Bros Discovery as investors
The Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) has completed a Series B financing round, led by Divergent Investments, with other backers including majority investor Sir Michael Moritz and Warner Bros Discovery.
