Fantium raises US$2m to develop NFT athlete investment platform

Blockchain-based athlete financing platform Fantium has raised US$2 million in a pre-seed round that included the involvement of prominent Web 3.0 figures and athletes. Backers included Sandbox co-founder Sebastien Borget, Sorare growth lead Brian O’Hagan, OneFootball chief executive Lucas von Cranach and 2020 US Open tennis champion Dominic Thiem.

Sports and entertainment executives launch Velocity Capital Management to invest up to $50 Million in early-Stage companies

Veteran executives, David Abrams and Arne Reese are launching Velocity Capital Management to invest in early-stage startups that are situated in the areas and cross-sectors of entertainment, sports, and media.

SC Braga sell 22% stake to Qatar Sports Investments

Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) has signed a share purchase agreement for a 21.67 per cent stake in Portuguese top-flight soccer club SC Braga. The deal is expected to close in the next few months, subject to certain closing conditions.

VUZ, a social app that allows users to stream and experience immersive realism in extended reality (XR) and metaverse digital experiences, has raised $20 million in Series B investment.

Homa raises another $100 million for its data-driven mobile gaming tools

French startup Homa has raised a $100 million Series B funding round. Quadrille Capital and Headline are leading the round. Homa partners with indie mobile game studios so their games are perfectly optimized to become a hit game on the App Store and Google Play.
