The “investlete” trend continues to rise in the football world as Real Madrid Welsh international, Gareth Bale, enters the Esport arena by launching his own team, Ellevens Esports, in partnership with 38 Entertainment Group. Starting with a team entering into the FIFA eClub World Cup, Bale plans to target many of the major Esport championship events in the coming months while recruiting a strong team of winners to build his empire in the Esports ecosystem.
Esports coaching startup ProGuides raises $5M in Seed investment
Led by M13, an early-stage consumer technology VC, a group of west coast-based firms made the dream of a $5M seed investment come true for Proguides, a popular Esports coaching platform operated by GLG Gaming. To allocate the proceeds, Proguides is expanding their team, amping up their marketing, and augmenting the scope of their course material.
More money into Mobile Gaming
Taking a step up the investment ladder, Spanish mobile esports platform eGoGames announced its closing of a $3.3M Series A round. Leading the investment are the president of Société Générale Group, Donato González; Francisco Riberas, the president of Gestamp, and Jaime Martín Laborda, founding partner and CEO of Millennial Gaming. Internal reports state that this epic round has marked up the company value to 10x higher than the proceeds.
